Wight Motors sponsors various sporting events and clubs in the Island community. In the past, these have included Squash tournaments, cycle races, Junior Tennis events, and Inter Island Athletics.

Golfing Tournaments
We have sponsored Golfing Tournaments at both Sandown & Shanklin & Ryde Golf Clubs and taken local winners to regional finals on the mainland. We currently sponsor Ryde Indoor Bowls Thursday League, Ryde 2nd Field Hockey Team and also the Wightlink Raiders Ice Hockey Team.  

Kelly Sotherton
We are proud to have helped sponsor Island girl Kelly Sotherton at the Inter-Island Games before her debut as an international sports personality and Olympic medal winner.
We have also supported James Groocock, now qualified to wear a GB shirt with his record-breaking jump of 7.39m at the Cardiff Celtic Cup recently. He now ranks 10th in the all-time U20 indoor athletics.

Earl Mountbatten Hospice and Ryde House
We gave free loan cars to both the Island Earl Mountbatten Hospice and Ryde House for a year to help them get out and about in the community. At our Annual Motor show in July run by the IWFDA, all funds raised are donated to the Hospice.  We have also donated throughout the year to Hospice events - anyone who purchased the 2008 Hospice Calendar featuring the local Sandown Fire Service Branch will notice one of our Toyota Hi-Lux cars in July's picture taken on Yaverland Beach!

Sparks
A National charity that we support as a Company and also through the Hyundai Franchise in the UK. Through many sporting, fund-raising events they seek to promote medical research into illnesses both in unborn and post-natal infants. The 2008 Presidents will be Gabby & Kenny Logan (of "Strictly Come Dancing Fame").  A yachting event will be held at Cowes on the Island in June.
