40 Years at Wight Motors for Richard
We have an employee that used to work at the Ryde branch, Richard Williams in our Service/Parts Dept (he transferred here to Sandown to the new Hyundi/SEAT showroom 3 years ago) that joined the company 40 years ago. As we feel the loyalty and dedication to the Company and our customers should not go unnoticed, we planned a surprise presentation and celebration for him and included some of our retired staff.
Richard joined the company on April 21st 1970 in the parts department when Wight Motors held the Rootes Franchise. Over the years, he has had to change his knowledge of parts and service on various different makes when the company took on Daihatsu at Ryde, Toyota, Hyundai, and since the closure of Ryde and move to Sandown, SEAT as well. Richard is known to thousands of our customers, he is always 'Mr Cheerful'; very little gets him down, and invariably, customer feedback, both trade and retail is excellent. His trademark laugh can be heard from one side of the premises to the other. Richard is part of the Wight Motors team that won the 2009 Hyundai National Customer satisfaction award.
